I’ve been here twice now, both times via an invite from an old comic friend, and Upstate Comedy Lounge is honestly a hidden gem. The venue is a great size—intimate without feeling cramped—which makes it perfect for stand-up. You really feel connected to the comics, especially if you sit up front.
They offer small bites and strong drinks, which is always a win, and the overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming. What surprised me is that it hasn’t been crowded during my visits, which feels like such a missed opportunity because the talent has been really solid. The last show I attended had some genuinely hilarious comics, start to finish.
I think with a bit more visibility and outreach, this place could easily stay packed—because the product itself is already there. Great comics, good drinks, and an intimate atmosphere are a winning combo.
Bonus moment: I sat right in front and even got a shout-out for my shiny new cowboy boots 😂—which just added to the fun and made the night feel interactive and personal.
If you’re looking for a laid-back night with real laughs and good energy, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

I can't remember the last time I had such a good time at a comedy lounge. It was probably somewhere in LA. This place had a great set of comedians and paired it perfectly with singers who were also very talented. The crown jewel of the show was the headliner Alvin Perry but everyone was very funny and talented. I brought my girlfriend who was very skeptical but left very happy and couldn't stop talking about the show. We had a great time and the show was very worth the drinks and the tickets. 🎟️ I would come back in a heartbeat and I would highly recommend. 5 stars ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Always a wonderful time. Great staff remembers your name and definitely remembers your drinks if you go a few times. Love the raffle at the end!! Wish more people appreciated what that place is doing for the city
