A cool little speakeasy entered through the picture in the hotel! Staff in the bar were super friendly and attentive- service was great. Live music was a great addition. Would highly recommend!

It’s a very nice atmosphere for the mature crowd. The music is amazing but the only negative is that there’s only two bartenders. They do their best but with the hotel guest and the locals enjoying the music the service is slow. I can’t fault the bartenders but maybe the management could get one more bartender to keep up with the crowd. It’s really a good vibe but one more bartender would do wonders.

Came here after Lord Huron concert at the majestic across the street and herd Jazz music coming from somewhere and nearby the vale car service entrance when suddenly a large painting that was actually a door that opened up, and as soon as you walked in they had a small trio of a pianist, a singer and trumpet player that was phenomenal. The layout of the bar is awesome and takes you back in time with the atmosphere and lighting. Comfortable seating and quick bar service on the lower end with plenty more seating. A great thing is you can hear the music from anywhere or watch a local game on the tvs that are setup. I ordered and was quickly served a margarita in the rocks, and a well made old fashioned. Definitely a classy date night spot to enjoy the vibe and still have conversation without having to yell or just to be there and have a good drink and chill. Will be back for sure.

Potential to be a great bar. We sat for 20 minutes without the bartender serving us. Understandable if there were more than the four other people there but there was not. We left without being served.

It’s Thursday night and they closed 2 hours early. We picked this hotel specifically to check out this bar. Super lame.

Decided to stay at the Gunter Hotel specifically for this bar. Only open one night of our trip and we were turned away as they “closed for the night” two hours early.

I used to love coming to this bar, but after tonight,. As a. Couple coming into a bar that has three other guests you might think that you would get at least a smile from the three staff behind the bar. Luckily, the bartender was making a drink for the charming lady, that worked at the hotel, standing behind him, and then totally ignored us as he looked for approval from his obvious superior. I hope both she and he gets to keep their pathetic jobs. So we left sadly no drinks to be had.

This is a beautiful dark wood bar with a speakeasy vibe. Great vibe for a quiet drink with a client. Superb bartenders and attentive staff.

We've been visiting 414 with John and Burt (and Rolando, wherever you are) for about five years now - and I always forget that it's a hotel bar. It's the best, most under-appreciated cocktail bar downtown. The service is always good and the prices are reasonable. The food has been hit-and-miss over the years - I can't say I'd recommend it - but if we're after a cocktail downtown this is nearly always where we end up.

What a find. Was wondering around looking for a happy hour. Saw great reviews and stopped by. Gave some general info for a cocktail, and the mixologist took over. No idea what exactly I’m having, but I’m extremely appointed. Great vibe.
