I came here a few years back when they first opened and had a wonderful experience, and was eager to come again. I came by on a Thursday evening and it was a busy night. The interior is adorable and makes you feel as you are in a French Cafe. The patio is lovely as well, my only gripe is it is next to a bustling tight corridor to the entrance to the Pearl so things can be quite noisy on a busy night. We started with drinks - I got the Lychee Martini and loved the mix of Lychee and Peach liquor. The drink had a fresh juice taste and a subtle hint of vodka (don’t be fooled, the drink was still strong). For our appetizer we got the raclette sandwich - the tableside service is expected for a dish of this but still it never gets old. The baguette was fresh, and our waiter loaded our sandwich up with cheese. The paprika aioli and gherkin pickles wrapped this dish up in a nice bow. It was a good splitting appetizer with my partner. For my entree, I got the baked branzino (loup de mer au four) and my oh my…the brown butter caper sauce was to die for. The nuttiness from the brown butter, saltines from the capers and the branzino… I still dream of this dish. The fish was cooked appropriately and the green beans/potatoes helped make this a full plate. For dessert we went with a simple but classic choice - the cream brulee. Personally, nothing of it stood out differently from one you would get elsewhere but I can say it was done how it should be and was tasty. The berries on top were a nice add to the presentation. I appreciate that our waiter was prompt up front about allergens and was very helpful in ensuring we could get the dishes we want. Even with our large list (soy, sesame, peanuts, cashews) we still could get a lot of the food. The staff was friendly and prompt too. Overall, I had another wonderful experience here and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique, upscale dining experience in San Antonio.

Nestled in the "Pretentious Pearl". In the heart of ONE of San Antonio's upscale/overpriced shopping areas. Mon Chou Chou does not seem pretentious but its prices do reflect that. The food was/is good, not great. Prices seemed a bit high for, mainly just cheese and bread. We ordered the Raclett with ham; open "sandwich", puff pastry covered Lobster Bisque, Croque Monsieur, Creme Brulee, Americano coffee and a Baguette with extra butter (to go). Rocklette was very good. Cheese was very sharp and good. Croque Monieur is a sandwich and has a white gravy and tastes like white toast with cheap ham with no flavor. The lobster bisque was my favorite. Some of the best I've had. The puff pastry on it was very tasty. I tasted the creme brulee and was very good. Never had it before so, I can't compare it to anything. But she liked it a lot. The baguette was very disappointing. It tasted like bad wheat flour bread with no flavor. I hope this is not what a real baguette tastes like; if so, I'd rather get a baguette from HEB. The Americano coffee was very good and strong. This place charges you for every thing. Each 8oz. soda refill is $4; they don't tell you so you might wanna ask. Each butter packet is $1.29. Prices are definitely NOT worth it for me and mine. They don't even offer hot chocolate. For all these reasons I'm changing my rating to 3 stars. Its a one and done for us considering I can get better and cheaper sandwiches at Jersey Mike's and Jimmy John's.

So delicious! We went for Sunday brunch and had the lobster bisque, quiche, and Le steak. It was our best meal during our trip to San Antonio! The outside seating was so cute- lots of people (and dog) watching, and comfortable with the heaters. The service was stellar, and the manager checked on us numerous times throughout the meal. Definitely a must-do in San Antonio. Bonus to go on a Saturday or Sunday for the Pearl Market!

It was a special occasion for me and my Wife we started off the meal with the Fromage Raclette opting for the Bayonne Ham(French Prosciutto) The baguette was light and toasty with an airy aïoli adding to the creaminess of the Raclette. The aïoli was definitely the unsung hero. We both ordered drinks which were potent and appropriate for the price. For our main course we had the Pauve De Saumon (skin on salmon filet with beranise) and the bourguignon de joul de beouf (Burgandy wine braised Beef Cheek with Pearl Onion) both dishes were rich, savory and filling.Atmosphere- The surroundings were very chic the floors were adorned with hexagonal tile, solid wood and tasteful colors. There is a large hardwood bar reminiscent of an older time and place. Together with the food it made for a great experience.Negatives- For a special occasion this place can’t be faulted. On a regular basis you would need to restrain yourself because it is easy to get carried away with their menu(This is meant as a compliment).

First time and definitely not the last. Great way to spend our anniversary. The beef bourguignon melted in my mouth, flavor was on point, needed more potatoes tho. That raclette Sandwhich had the crisp from the bread with all that melted cheese... Mmm.. Also the Mac and cheese was velvety and appreciated the top baked Layer. Also the dessert (mocha pot) was fire, like a rich pudding. Highly recommend but don't come extremely hungry 😅

I was extremely impressed with the food and the service. The cheese bread is a must-have. I dug in my food so fast I didn't get get a picture of our actual meals. I had a burger that tasted like no other burger I've ever had. My partner had the chicken meal that was good as well. Also, if you enjoy french onion soup... make sure you try it there. We wanted the lamb, but we were having lamb for Easter, so we definitely have to come back.
