Hanzo, A Japansese style pub, specilizes in handcrafted cocktails served with an asian twist. It's menu, which consists of traditional noodle bowls and small appetizers, is not a typical dinner spot but it comes extremely highly rated. Tucked away in Alamo Heights, the real magic of this bar is the low key location which incorperates decorations from Japan to establish a unique feel, you definitely wont think typical San Antonio. If thats not enough of a reason to check this bar out it also has two, count em', two happy hours for you and a loved one to celebrate the occasion.

I have been going to Hanzo's for over four years, a couple of times per month. They removed popular menu items. This service isn't what it used to be and they have air fryers cooking all of their hot food. During a recent visit we asked the waitress about the deep fryer and she stated their deep fryer was working and the had only been down since the NBA playoffs. 1st learn about where you work especially when there are regulars that are aware of the situation. Lastly the manager use to smile and be friendly, now she just walks around like she is mad at the world. Do better especially when the prices are high!

My boyfriend and I came here for happy hours . Ramen was pretty bland and I paid $13 for a very small bowl . We got happy hour food and drinks . The portions are also small which was a surprise. Definitely just going for a beer next time , food is not worth the price

I've been a total of 3 times to this place. Only thing thing I would say is happy hour food NOT WORTH IT. The proportions are so SMALL you need to order lots of food and the kitchen is always backed up. The service is always terrible the waitresses always have an attitude and take forever to come by. We order a Sake bomb and a drink and our waitress brought the sake bomb and the shot glass was empty we waited forever for her to come back and get her attention to let her know she didn't serve the shot, she proceeded to cuss and snatch the glass shot. We also ordered a roll of sushi and after some time we were looking to order more because again the portions are so small. She failed to mention that the kitchen was closed and no longer taking orders. The DJ that was playing that night was ok, it felt like the music didn't go with the ambiance of the place but overall not bad. I would say I wouldn't be coming back after 3 bad experiences. It's a shame the place is nice.

Love the happy hour! It's definitely not worth it at full price though. Service is one of the worst in town. Seems the servers all dislike each other and really really loathe customers that ask them for simple things like chopsticks if it's not the table the server is waiting on.

I had the pork boa, gyoza, and karaage chicken. Sad to say the only thing I liked was the alcohol and servers. The pork boa buns were dry. The bun broke in half and crumbled when I opened it. The honey pork was so overly dry my jaw hurt from chewing. The sides were a mix of different sized cuts (diced onions mixed with julienne onions). The gyoza was okay and piping hot. The curry... I wondered if the sauce was purchased pre-made. The rice was under done and the fired chicken had a uncomfortable amount of fat (uncleaned). I liked the concept from the adds I saw on Instagram but I won't be going back.

I've been coming here for 6 almost 7 years and the drinks and food are always amazing! wish they still had ramen tho but it's always 10 out of 10!

This place is one of my favorite places in San Antonio! The staff is very welcoming, the food is delicious, and the drinks are amazingly tasty! All the bartender are attentive, even if you don't know what to drink. Sometimes I just go in and tell them how I'm feeling and they will curate a drink based on that. They have never disappointed me with a cocktail.

Hanzo is always buzzing with a good vibe. Their tuna poke bowls are a favorite for us. Fun Japanese anime is constantly playing silently. The decor in the restaurant ranging from the koi fish tile to the kitschy Japanese street art in the bathrooms lends to the right look and feel. The bar is fully stocked so you can go here for a drink with friends or to enjoy s bite during happy hour. It’s always good times.

Hanzo is a great spot to go for a night out with friends or for a casual date night. While this Asian-inspired bar serves up a variety of drinks (including house cocktails, various sakes, and Japanese beers), they also have a food menu which features items such as bao buns, sushi and more. We tried the fried pork gyoza and 3 sushi rolls- all were absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Rhubarb G&T but substituted the gin for tequila, and he really enjoyed the unique taste! On a Sunday night around 9pm, this bar was pretty packed and had a diverse group of customers. The service from the staff was excellent and the music and dark lighting created a very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Someone recommended Hanzo for happy hour and I stopped by with some friends and we loved it! I had the Fried Tofu Poke Bowl, the Sake Bomb, the Stop Collin me and the Cherry Limeade and it was all delicious. The service was also great, they were very attentive and kind! We asked a billion questions too and they were very patient lol Definitely stop by and check out Hanzo, you won’t regret it!

Great place with very chill vibes! Definitely coming back here! They’re fire breathing roll was amazing and their drinks were great! The staff seems very chill and helpful. There is limited seating inside so we sat at the bar but there is a lot of seating outside as well! Definitely coming back and would recommend to anyone to visit!

Absolutely excellent meal. We spent the morning here before they opened to use their projector for a meeting. The staff was very accommodating. We finished our meeting with lunch and it was wonderful!! I will definitely be coming back with my friends and family.
