It is the largest Mexican market in all of the United States with loads of places for shopping and eating. Three full blocks worth of quality shops that have the most precious handmade goods, art, clothing and so much more. The El Mercado is a section of 32 specialty shops which is just the tip of the iceberg with the Farmer’s Market Plaza and its 80 other shops. Dress up in your favorite outfits and immerse yourself in a beautiful culture. Ps the Market Square is always decorated for a party so it makes for a great area for pictures and proposals.

Beautiful and authentic Mexican place. They have all the things handmade. If you want to get perfect Mexican wines must visit this. We bought few thing and it nice. Plus try churos there . It so yummy

Liked the nice hang out vibe this place gave. The few shops are nice if you're in the market for some authentic Mexican souvenirs slightly over prices but cheaper than going to Mexico lol. The stores do become repetitive seems they all sell the same thing so if you've stopped at one you've stopped at all obviously with maybe some very slight differences. Would recommend stopping here we enjoyed just being around the atmosphere.

Beautiful square! I love all the shops down here and how the market represents Hispanic/San Anton-ian culture. There’s also great food and music, even when fiesta isn’t happening. The shops can be expensive, especially when it comes to souvenirs and such, but that’s because a lot of the items are handmade. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid first with my family and now with my partner and we never fail to have a good time. It can get packed at times, especially on the weekend and in the evenings, which is better for the party scene. But for families the perfect time would be to come during the weekdays or earlier in the day.
