I just got off the phone with Isaac in Reservations at the Menger Hotel and he was wonderful. Very patient and listened to the many details of my confusing and difficult request for reservations for a certain date and room. I needed 3 rooms and had other requests and he just handled it without a pause. He explained all the details to me and answered my many, many questions so kindly. He also spoke so well of The Menger and San Antonio that is made me even more excited to be returning there. We have stayed at The Menger before and it's our favorite hotel in San Antonio, but after speaking with Isaac, I have even another reason to feel that way. Thank you Isaac very, very much!!!

I recently stayed at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio and had a very disappointing experience. Not only did I encounter bed bugs in my room, but when I informed the staff, they simply said 'sorry' and offered no help or compensation. This lack of concern for guest comfort and safety is unacceptable. Additionally, the hotel's haunted reputation did nothing to improve the stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the historic Menger. The staff were extraordinarily courteous and accommodating, knowing us by name. Not only were the front desk associates kind and helpful, but Gavin and his crew at valet were as well. The location and proximity to all of downtown’s destinations couldn’t be beat. The hotel’s history and well preserved decor and furnishings are well worth the visit.

This is our second year in a row to stay at the Menger, and each visit has been fantastic. Everyone at the hotel is very kind and helpful. It is easy to see with their smiles and pleasant demeanor how much they enjoy working at the Menger, and this carries over into the exceptional service that is provided. From the moment we arrive, the valet, front desk, restaurant staff, hotel staff have all been so kind and accommodating. (Even when we became a bit too loud in the courtyard late into the night--their sweet asking of us to lower our voices (truly could not have been asked kinder!) turned into tales of haunts and hotel history. The bar is fun and the bartenders are fantastic! The Colonial Room Restaurant is beautiful with great food and delicious coffee. For the second year we've had the same server, Araceli, and she is the ultimate hostess who takes exceptional care of you (and never lets your coffee cup run dry!). Truly a fantastic hotel no matter what area you visit!

April and Tim were absolutely amazing! They helped me out every time I was in need, and explained some history of the hotel. Had a nice stay, but I definitely think this place is haunted. The bathroom door slammed shut in the middle of the night. Other than that, super great!

Will definitely stay here again! The location is perfect. Valet is awesome. The room was clean. We stayed in the petite king bed so the room was kind of small but that was to be expected. But overall we give it a 9/10 only bc the water in the shower would all of a sudden get hot/cold. The paranormal activity didn’t disappoint ;)

We had lunch at the Buckhorn Saloon on 6/28 in San Antonio, TX. They were easily able to accommodate our family group of 12 at a large table. The food was good but the service was extremely slow. There were a lot of taxidermy animals heads on the walls, so if you don’t like that sort of stuff, don’t go there. Other than the slow service, I would recommend this place to everyone that visits the San Antonio area!We visited the Texas Ranger museum on 6/28 in San Antonio, TX. We loved the fact that they had a self-service photographer doing group photos before we went into the museum itself. It was well worth it to purchase the photos. The Texas Ranger museum was very interesting. It was primarily the first floor of the museum. The second floor was primarily taxidermy animals and fun-house type exhibits. I would recommend this place to everyone that visits the San Antonio area!
