Claudine Restaurant is a real Southern Comfort institution with an upgraded French flair. On weekdays, we serve lunch and dinner, and on weekends, we serve brunch and tea. Come see us at Grandma's place to brighten your day. Snug tables are surrounded by gorgeous hand-painted wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, and poignant photos of Houston Carpenter's grandmother, Claudine. Menu options include fried chicken with fermented hot honey and pommes puree, as well as duck confit with butternut squash puree, glazed rainbow carrots, and pecans, inspired by grandma's southern-comfort style cuisine with an upgraded French flavor.

Amazing vibes and delicious food that is a refreshing pace of change from most of the other restaurant options in SA! Loved the Cajun/creole/french flavors. The fried okra and the crawfish etoufee were to die for. So excited to come back!

Pictured is the amount of a tower provided to be shared between 3 guests at $40 per person or $120 total (with 3 pots of tea). The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere and tea. I came with a few girlfriends and had tea. Despite the great service and atmosphere, I do feel the tea service was overpriced. Having had high tea in London, for the same price, the food provided is minimal and not customizable. I think $25 per person would be reasonable value. I will come again, but will opt to order from the primary menu and take one pot of tea for the table instead for a more reasonable value and left overs.

We really enjoyed the food and drinks. I personally love the gumbo. The ambiance is great, and service was on point. The crabcake beignets weren't our favorite, but we loved the other items. I mean, just look at that cornbread butter! That cornbread is crazy good, and the gumbo had a lot of meat in it.

The food, while perfectly prepared and carefully served, was overpriced. The decor is very well chosen. Ample on-street parking is available at lunchtime.

1st time there. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is a renovated Victorian home. The vintage Victorian decor was fabulous. The dinner areas are segmented into 4 small dining areas. They are cozy and create an intimate setting. They really sweat the details.Shout out to our server Cortez. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and was on point with recommendations.We ordered the Escargot. WOW were we blown away. The chef's rendition severs it out of the shell in a bowl with an amazing sauce... The chef has ruined Escargot for us... This is the only way we want to eat it going forward!!I had the Snapper... The sauce again stole the show. Great dish.The only critique was the duck dish my wife ordered. Despite internal temp being cooked to a perfect medium, the sear was overdone and was a little tough.Overall great venue and great experience. Definitely recommend and will go back next time in SA.

Love this place. Always a good stop on a downtown trip. You do not need a reservation for the lounge. Find the right entrance and enjoy a beverage and a great view of SA.

It was our first time at Restaurant Claudine. My sister & I are foodies and we love going to new places and trying new foods. When we entered we were greeted since we did make a reservation. The atmosphere was very nice. Our server Ray was very nice enjoyable and he made sure that he went over the menu with us since it was our first time and even recommended some dishes. Ray was very attentive and made sure that our food and everything came out fresh and hot. Other staff members also came around and made sure everyone was doing okay. So we did do champagne mimosas I got the shrimp and grits my sister got the chicken and waffles as well as the chicken salad. 10 out of 10 the food was amazing we will be back soon. And the homemade syrup was delicious.

What an amazing find! The outside of the restaurant (an older remodeled home) doesn’t do justice to the beautifully decorated rooms. We started with the blue crab beignets which were phenomenal. I had the off-menu chicken fried steak and can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had. It was definitely the gravy that did it for me. Our server was excellent, and we had such a wonderful experience. We will definitely visit again the next time we’re in town.
