What makes it fun

Scratch Kitchen is a location where old friends and new friends get together on a daily basis, and passersby take the time to appreciate all of the beauty and all of the oddities that our old Victorian property possesses. Each night, our talented bakers stay up late to produce the flaky danish, fragrant breads, mouth-watering quiche, and other delectable baked products that are available for you to enjoy here in the morning. Baked products created from scratch are the house specialty at Scratch Kitchen, which also serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch.

This place was beautiful. The food was delicious! It tasted like a grandma is in the kitchen cooking with love. The decor and atmosphere give small Italy dinner. The item I enjoyed the most was the pecan pie dessert. My mother doesn’t eat pecan pie and she ate a whole slice . The prices were very reasonable. A must visit. Any time I come to San Antonio I’ll be here to eat. 10/10!

I like the place, it did take a bit too long to get the food, but when it got there it was well worth it. Dessert was really yummy 😋Overall, a great experience and will visit again.

Cool little place breakfast was great Irish bread on point. It was a little breezy so was able to enjoy my breakfast outside.

Delicious and SO FRESH! the bread, biscuits, fruit everything was amazing. We ordered a bit of variety being our first time and I cannot name my favorite!Piggies were delish, quiche, OnPoint. Fruit surprisingly fresh. No idea how they do it. Excited to make my next visit to try the coffee and other menu items. Customer service was greeting, patient and kind 💕Glad to have found y’all on a morning hunt for a something new for breakfast.

What an incredible place, the vibe was so chill, the staff inviting and caring to make sure our breakfast was perfect. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, the bacon, egg and avocado 🥑 were absolutely perfect. Also had the jalapeño kolaches which were fresh and tasty. To top it all off I had healthy brownie that was absolutely moist and fresh. This place is truly a hidden gem. I’m coming back for a some morning coffee and the great vibes!

Finally made it here. It's a quaint little place probably more tables outside than inside so good weather will always be a pleasant sit outside. And let me tell you it's in the name.... scratch. Everything we ate tasted like it was made from scratch. My friend had the breakfast sandwich with the egg over easy inside they said they loved it... it looked incredible and the bun it came in was really beautiful. I tried the SK bacon lettuce tomato. And yes I actually asked what the SK stood for duh, scratch kitchen. Perfect combination of bacon and avocado and I had it on the house Made bread, I think it was the multigrain. I love a toasted bread, there is nothing better than crunching into that sandwich. My particular meal also allowed for extra choices. I picked the fresh fruit which was incredibly fresh. And i picked a cup of tomatoe basil soup. Yum. I would have swirled butter or cream cheese in, but that's me...And it ALSO came with a dessert, so I had a half of the pecan bar. I'm so glad I only got half of the pecan bar LOL but believe me I wanted the other half. Young man at the counter was very pleasant explained a lot of things to us and was very patient. You know I love local... get out and try to support places like this. I'm coming back because I had plate envy and I want that breakfast sandwich LOL
