Alas de México translates to Wings of Mexico. This bronze sculpture was brought to life by renowned Mexican artist, Jorge Marín. It was gifted to San Antonio from Mexico City as a celebratory gift for San Antonio's tricentennial! So, listen up! This incredible spot I'm about to tell you about is located right near the base of the iconic Tower of the Americas, nestled in the heart of Hemisfair Park. This bronze sculpture of wings encourages you to be part of the art by stepping up onto the platform and posing between the sculpted wings. Grab your angel and head over for a great photo op.

Cute little statue that's a bit away from tower of the Americas. There was no one else there when we went on a Friday night so we were able to take as many pics as we wanted. Looks really cool on 0.5x on the iphone!

Only the area to take the photos, the rest of the park is very nice but they have it super neglected, it is very dirty, the fountains are horrible, it lacks a lot of maintenance

Located next to Tower of Americas, Nice photogenic location to capture Angelic image. Suggested time to visit is early morning or late evenings before sunset.
Avoid long weekend/holidays as its crowded.
Parking is available nearby to downtown or at Tower of Americas. Entry is free.

Cool little statue, that you can stand with and pose in. We had fun on our way leaving the park. If you’re in that area, it’s worth stopping!

Public parking near commonwealth coffee- 1st 30 min free if you’re there for just a quick photo!! Near the observation deck. There is a paved path up to it but the wings itself has stairs with no ramp access. Sometimes there’s festivals or events in the area as well so look up events for hemisfair park in advance because that could affect parking & a wait time for photos!
