    What makes it fun

Árbol de la Vida: Memorias y Voces de la Tierra commemorates San Antonio’s heritage of ranching through the eyes and hearts of the local community. The artistic styled project’s goal has the intent to bring the locals of San Antonio together by bringing life and providing a physical form to the shared story of this community. The structure itself is made of steel in the shape of a tree. It has 700 ceramic and clay sculptures attached to the steel branches. Each piece of clay art was created by members of the community. The best part is the contributors didn’t have to be artists, many of them were amateurs creating art that they felt would add to the beautiful story that the community as a whole shares together. Its an adorable place for pictures and a memorable spot for you two love birds to have a moment you’ll remember forever.

Loved Árbol de la Vida & its creator, Artist Margarita Cabrera! I love Public Art in San Antonio and especially along the mission reach of the river. Mission Espada is beautiful and worth the trip. Bunny loved it!

It was a little complicated to find it because we thought it was apart from everything, but it is not on one side of the Espada mission so that it is easier for you to find it, go to the church in that parking lot and find a cement path, walk a few meters and there is You will find it on the side where you can see the houses of the community. I hope my review is useful to you and don't miss visiting such beautiful work done by people from the community.

What a wonderful find off the highway, was surprised at the scale of it, and how many elements of art were attached. Glad we stopped.

Beautiful art experience on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The original “Tree of Life” is in Jordan where Moses struck the rock to provide water for his people, the Israelites.

Árbol de la vida is truly something ofpure magic. I was amazed by the beauty of this full of life artistic structure. The individual ornaments are all hand crafted by several different artists in and around the San Antonio area. I highly recommend you take the time to visit this wonderful breathtaking piece of art!

I parked at Mission San Francisco De La Espada Catholic Church and walked the small trail to this gorgeous art instillation. The Tree of Life is half way from the church to river walk. Bikes available to rent at start of trail, gravel and mostly paved. Beautiful photo opportunities.

It’s a wonderful art installation. It’s a place where you can sit for hours a still discover new objects above. Everything thing from animals, vehicles, buildings to people are presented above. It’s fun to spot something and then ask someone else to spot it. If you read my review and then visit here look for the POW MIA sculpture.
