    What makes it fun

A hidden gem of San Antonio is the beautifully lush Japanese Tea Garden. This magical garden is full of flowers, greenery, whimsical stone bridges and other quaintly shaded pathways that lead you through the natural display. Find yourself positively mesmerized by the 60 ft waterfall that pours into a pond filled with vibrantly colored koi fish dancing through the water. The Japanese Tea Garden also offers private areas that can be rented for small or semi larger gatherings. The Garden itself has been a work in progress since the 1920’s. If you are looking for a place with stunning scenery and the epitome of Zen then look no further. A peaceful place to propose to your forever soulmate.

Do not try the chicken kale salad, my server was not engaging and lacked customer service skills. The place is appealing but it's difficult to have a conversation when you are so close to others. I will have to give it a second visit and order something better.

One of the very beautiful hidden gems here in San Antonio, Texas. I came here back in February 9, 2023. Hadn't been here in a couple of years. I absolutely love this place. It's very peaceful and beautiful here. Perfect place to bring family and friends.

I absolutely fell in love with this place. So peaceful and serene very early in the morning. We know it gets busy there, so we got there at 8am. It's much cooler at that time and you can go slowly up the stairs. I would visit this place again.

There is free parking, it can be limited when busy. Today was not busy at 7am. The children really enjoyed the stone pathways. The structure is handicapped accessible, but the pathways are not. I love the koi fish pond and the waterfall. There is a little cafe that does, sell some goodies.

Beautiful. This was such a lovely experience. Amazing to see such a well kept garden. The fish and turtles were super cute. Such a lovely quiet place to clear your head. I'm guessing it's the shop there but it was so very sweet of them to keep the hot weather in mind. They had a container of cold water outside for the guests. It was just a great sight.

Fun little garden with a super short trail up to a tiny waterfall. Plenty of fish and turtles in the water, if you enjoy nature. About 45 minutes is sufficient to see everything this place has to offer.Although parts of the garden have ramps not all parts of the trail are easily accessible. If you’re walking with older members of the family make sure they are careful climbing up and down the stairs that are available, as these are often not even. The parking right next to the entrance of the garden was quite busy. However, there is usually plenty of parking available in the parking lot further downhill.Went during a hot summer weekend and had no issues. Although parts of the trail get busy they clear up if you’re able to wait a few minutes. Note: The area close to the waterfall is quite busy at all times with people taking photographs, especially if the garden is packed. Would definitely recommend visiting the garden if you’re a tourist passing through San Antonio, looking for a free activity with gorgeous views.

Such a place of beauty!!!! This place was so beautiful and peaceful! The gardens were incredible, never seen such beautiful flowers, plants, and waterfall! It was too hard to believe it was free to go in! We took so many amazing pictures. Also handicap friendly, but the entrance is not visible or marked. It is accessible from the parking lot. This is a must see gem!

Forget about the zen and tranquility you normally see at Japanese gardens, this place is lively vibrant. Since we visited the weekend it was so crowded like a mad house. It is a good place for photo ops because of the beautiful blooming flowers. People stop right on the narrow walkpath to pose for pictures 😀

Great place to explore a small yet beautiful snippet of nature. The garden is very well maintained. I loved the small details all around the park. Fishes in the pond are an added plus to watch. There were lots of New Graduates and families visiting the park on the Thursday I visited. Not sure if it gets the same busy on other weekdays or weekends.

There was so much to see and do. It was relatively clean, and the restrooms were well cared for. If you buy a refillable drink cup, the prices are reasonable. My only suggestion would be to add misters to the huge fans they had spaced around to combat the heat. As is, they just moved around the hot air.

Can't say enough about this venue. Simply beautiful. We started here an hour exploring and taking pictures. The scenery is Beautiful. The walk is tough but you can still enjoy the beauty without walking. Gorgeous waterfall and unique history. A little cafe to enjoy a cold or hot drink.Best part is this is free, no charge to the public to enter.

Nice place to visit and just take in the scenery. Not a whole lot to do but nice for photo opportunities and just soaking things in. Garden is pretty big with steps around the water fall and ponds. To me its an experience worth checking out.
