What makes it fun

Crownridge Canyon Park is a great location to get some fresh air and exercise. With markers placed along the paths to identify native plants you’ll be sure to learn about the environment as you walk one of two of the notable trails highlighting local flora as well as the area’s early human inhabitants. Explore the Red Oak, a lower trail loop which leads to the bridge crossing Red Oak Canyon or the Bear Grass Trail with is a natural surface patched with nearby flowers. Additional features of Crownridge Natural area include a bridge overlook, beautiful forest and a few of the canyons.

In winter, the water becomes less and colder, making it not suitable for playing in the water.

The park itself is the best in town, but I encountered severe harassment there today, so security officers need to be present there during all open hours. An idiotic child threw a hard ball at my left thigh as I was walking by the pavilion by the parking lot at the end of my hike today, and now I have a huge bruise!!! I need 8 bodyguards even though I'm not a rockstar!!!

Great shaded path with some flat and some climb. A complete loop is about 2.25 miles. It was so beautiful, I trail ran it twice! A beautiful hidden trail in the midst of the city. Places like this are hard to come by! Just leave your dog at home as it’s a dog-free zone.

Very nice park. Good, challenging trails to walk with a decent amount of shade. My first time going with my son. I'd definitely recommend using a heavy duty or off roading stroller for these trails.

A medium-sized park with nice trails and interesting rock formations to view. A good place to hike or jog.

A modest park that allows one to enjoy the outdoors. The park consists of two defined sections: Red Oak Trail and Bear Grass Trail. The Red Oak Trail is a level one ADA trail that is 1.3 miles. The Bear Grass Trail is a .6-mile Level 4 trail that requires some walking up significant elevations at times. I suggest wearing hiking boots or at least shoes that tie-up. I was wearing walking shoes without laces, so some parts of the trail consisting of steep slopes and rocky ledges were a little more challenging. At the front of the park were restrooms, water fountains, and a canopy. Per their posted policy alcohol, bikes and pets are not allowed.

Beautiful trails, stunning hill country views. Very few other hikers. About 50% is paved/handicap accessible/stroller friendly, but there are also some genuinely challenging bits for the avid hiker. Beautiful mosaics/mural at beginning of trail as well. Visit in the spring when the wildflowers will greet you in the parking lot.
