Nice walking/hiking trials with various levels of difficulty. Hiking shoes recommended or shoes with a good tread. I would recommend a walking stick or trekking poles (we had trekking poles). It took us 1 hr 35 mins to do 2.78 miles. Make sure to have water. Enjoy, I know we did.

By far one of the best trail networks in san antonio. Very steep climbs. Rugged terrain. Nice views. Well marked trails. Well maintained trails. Ample parking with sufficient overflow on the street. Wheelchair and stroller friendly paths. Washroom facilities. Fantastic place to meet some of South Texas' critters, insects, birds, reptiles, and humans. These trails are open sunrise to sunset. Exceptions include during and shortly after heavy rainfalls (check with preserve). No dogs or bikes allowedNon-smoking areaHiking etiquette appliesPack out what you pack in.Stay right, pass left, and up has the right of way.

A Hidden Gem for Adventurers: Unforgettable Hike at Freidrich Wilderness ParkI had the pleasure of hiking on an this awesome trail, and it turned out to be an extraordinary experience. Tucked away within a neighborhood, this hidden gem surprised me with its natural beauty and diverse trail options, catering to hikers of all skill levels.Initially, I assumed it was merely a neighborhood park, but to my delight, it revealed itself as the starting point of a remarkable hiking trail. It offers a variety of options, ranging from wheelchair-accessible paths to more challenging routes for seasoned adventurers. This versatility ensures that everyone can find a trail that suits their preferences and abilities.Opting for the most difficult trail, I embarked on a thrilling journey that stretched a little over 3 miles. The trail showcased the perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment, allowing me to immerse myself in nature while testing my hiking skills. The scenic views, lush surroundings, and well-maintained pathways added to the allure, creating a captivating atmosphere throughout the hike. What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into designing the trails. The clear signage and markers ensured that I stayed on track, avoiding any confusion or potential detours. It was evident that the trail organizers had hikers' comfort and safety in mind, which contributed to a seamless and worry-free experience. As I made my way through the diverse terrain, I couldn't help but appreciate the natural wonders that unfolded before me. From dense foliage to panoramic vistas, the Trail captured the essence of outdoor adventure, providing a refreshing escape from the daily routine. It was a perfect harmony of physical exertion, natural beauty, and tranquility.Without a doubt, I highly recommend exploring this Trail to anyone seeking a rewarding hiking experience. Whether you're a beginner looking for an accessible path or an experienced hiker seeking a challenge, this trail system has something to offer for everyone. Be prepared to be captivated by its charm, and be sure to bring your camera to capture the breathtaking moments along the way.Lace up your shoes and get ready to embark on an adventure that will leave you longing for more

Friedrich is one of the best hiking spots in San Antonio! Not as many miles of trails as Gov't Canyon, but still a place you can easily get at least 10 miles done, mostly in the shade! We went there on Sunday, and it was packed (we had to park along Heuermann), but we rarely saw any people along the trails (Restoration Way and Encino Pass, especially). One odd thing I noticed this time around were several uprooted trees, some of them partially blocking some pretty hairy points along the way. The agarita were in bloom, so don't forget to rest near them to enjoy their fragrance! Also, no dogs allowed.

Experience nature untouched by humans. Feel supreme relaxation while walking/running along these peaceful meandering paved pathways & trails .. The paths closest to massive (free) parking is ideal for Handicap needs, little rise in elevation, a short distance. .No Pets allowed. I've Never seen trash of any sort here. Pristine!100's of untouched acreage, nature offers native local Hill Country trees, bushes (many have names posted), comfy benches scattered throughout for admiring/resting, wildlife abounds the further in you explore. Bring water for your enjoyable journey as none is available.
