Pete and Cruz Cortez founded a small cafe in San Antonio's Mercado in 1941 with just three tables to serve the early-rising farmers and workers who worked there. After eight decades, Mi Tierra has become a well-known monument all across the world. Mi Tierra Café is regarded as the best Tex-Mex eatery and Mexican bakery in the central business district of San Antonio, Texas, as well as a venue for live Mariachi performances. The ambiance was excellent, the restaurant was lively with lots of beautiful decorations. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Mexican Dinner and the enchilada was one of the best I've ever eaten. They also give you fresh homemade tortillas on the side. After eating I stopped by the panaderia and I got a concha that looked and tasted great.

I visited Mi Sierra Café y Panadería yesterday with some friends, and it was a great experience overall. The food was really good, with authentic flavors that truly stood out. You can tell they put care into their recipes, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The drinks were just as impressive refreshing and a perfect complement to the meal. The atmosphere was welcoming, making it a nice spot to hang out and enjoy good company. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for genuine Mexican food and a relaxed dining experience. When we walked in the atmosphere was fabolous! The decor was maximalist & we loved it! There was a 50 minute wait. Thankfully the markets made the 50 minute wait enjoyable! Once we were seated it took a while for the waitress to come to our table but it was busy! We ordered a small cheese dip & when the chips finally arrived it was one small salsa for four people which were not use to. During the whole visit we only got one more thing of chips which we had to ask for & only one refill of drinks which she returned with no straws. The food was really good. Our only complaint is the whole chips & salsa thing which is a big deal to us when eating at a Mexican restaurant and is the reason for 4 stars. For four people it was $101.21 then we also spend money buying sweet treats on our way out. We enjoyed it. The atmosphere is the best!

Amazing food and good service. Some of the best TexMex I have ever had. The service was good, and the waitress was knowledgeable and patient and was good with the kids. The chips and salsa were great and was refilled while we waited for the food to arrive. It took longer than I expected, but we came at an off time so I suspect that the kitchen was probably going through shift change. The food arrived and the plating was good and clean. It was hot and fresh. The chicken enchiladas were delicious and had a citrus freshness that I enjoyed. My wife got the Deluxe Mexican dinner so we could try a few other dishes. Everything was great and we left so stuffed since we couldn't stop eating and it was all so delicious. Do yourself a favor and stop here to eat if you stop by the Alamo and are hungry.

We were looking for a Great place to eat Mexican food, so we drove to San Antonio and went to Mi Tierra Cafe and they did NOT disappoint. I started off with a delicious Watermelon Margarita. Then I ordered their Mole enchiladas with rice and beans and all was so good. Everyone in my party was pleased with their meal. Our Server Cesar was so attentive and nice considering he was very busy. It was my Mother-in-law's Birthday and they brought out a piece of cake and sang to her. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. The next day we went back for Mexican Sweet Bread and that too was so good. I will be eating here again when I go back. I recommend you give it a try when you're in San Antonio.

This place is a must. If you are looking for an iconic place in San Antonio, look no further. The food is authentic and impressive. The drinks are strong. Expect to wait in a long line, we waited about an hour. But while you wait, they have awesome bar along with bakery shop up front and you can walk around plaza while you wait too. The food and service was top notch. the portion is huge. The park can be difficult due to street parking. Staff are friendly which enhanced our great experience.

A must visit when in San Antonio! A classic Mexican restaurant and bakery with amazing food and really great service! The place is almost always busy but they run through things pretty quickly with a really huge staff! The location is also great not to far of walk from the river walk area and in the historic downtown with many shops and vendors surrounding the place! The decorations inside just top everything off!

We love this place!!! Every time we visit San Antonio we come here at least once if not more. Prices are reasonable especially compared to the bigger chain Mexican restaurants that their food isn't that great but prices are way too high. Food, atmosphere and the people are awesome!! We highly recommend this place. AND you must get something from the bakery! Absolutely delicious.
