Senator Frank L. Madla Natural area consists of several trails dedicated to display the beauty of the area. Enjoy a snack on the East bend trail, the perfect picnic area. Watch the warbler’s nest along Warbler way and Alcove. Bring the family to the outdoor Amphitheater, a natural seating area overlooking the dry creek. Stroll down the Prairie path, a trail lined with wildflowers which circles the park’s pavilion. Don’t for get the check out the Overlook at the top of the hill, this panoramic vista of the valley is sure to be the spot to bring a significant other to gaze the surrounding hills. And yes it is available for rental.

Not a bad park for a quiet walk. The trails are marked fairly well but there’s no distance associated. Bring good shoes as it’s a rugged path and muddy after rain.

Lots of shade. There are restrooms. Parking is in the middle of the park.

Very enjoyable park for an afternoon walk. There were several trails well marked and maintained. There were a few alcoves with benches to relax and birdwatch. Texas native plants abound. A meadow was being restored so plantings were sparse. One of the cleanest, well maintained park I have been to in San Antonio!

Beautiful area! Would love to have the map give trail distance. The map could also have more quantitative description of trails than just "easy" or "moderate". Lovely pavilion. Clean port-a-potty.
