What makes it fun

Through our skill and enthusiasm, we at Shiro Bistro make it our mission to discern the guests' intentions, palates, states of mind, and special occasions. Plates and glasses serve as our vehicles as we pay homage to our locally sourced foods with a contemporary take on Japanese cuisine from the west coast. Omotanashi, or single-hearted, two-way engagement and hospitality, is the mode of delivery that Shiro Bistro use in order to fulfill our orders. The diner is considered a member of our extended family and all of us are working toward the same objective, which is to participate together in a gastronomic adventure that pushes the limits of both imagination and possibility.

While vacationing in San Antonio, we have tried the delicious food this place has to offer and I can tell you right now this is the best Japanese food my husband and I have had in a long time. We also have a 5 year old that is very picky but they are very accommodating and made a simple sushi roll for her, that she loved. The customer service was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant as you will not be disappointed by the flavourful rolls.

This place is great and all but they are missing some crucial japanes staple dishes that sadly you can only get that are made like they do in japan. dishes like Hamburg steak or curry katsu or oyako-don or other similar yummy japanese comfort foods that are easy to make like yakitori. i dont think there is a single place in america that has GOOD japanese comfort foods like katsu curry or japanese breakfast like you can get in japan. this is just american japanese food and sushi and normal american style teriyaki. why does every japanese restruaunt think we want karagge its just chicken nuggets. please make curry katsu :)

All the dishes we tried were delicious! The fish is very fresh and melts in your mouth. Our server was fabulous. Attaching a couple of pictures.

HOOO COWWW I COULD EAT THIS EVERYDAY! The food was amaaaaizing. Every combination of flavor was excellent together. I could have ordered our whole dinner twice all over again but we went too close to closing time. Will definitely be back ASAP. Fish is probably one of the best in all San Antonio. Service was good, just the entrance was a bit awkward because they don’t have (or at least we didn’t see) a host stand inside, so you just kind of stand in between tables for a sever to come to you and assign you a table. Nothing you can’t handle, just saying it was a bit awkward. Didn’t change my perspective though, would go back a million times. Pricing was very good and reasonable to quality of food and presentation. 10/10 recommend!

This place is great in all aspects! Definitely among the best sushi places in San Antonio. The rolls are delicious, fresh, tasty, original. Staff is very friendly and attentive. My only complain is the prices, those rolls are not cheap but well worth it for a special occasion or a date.
