Nothing says Yeehaw quite like The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. The most Texas place you may ever step your boots in. It all started with the saloon. Jam packed with cool Texas history like Teddy Roosevelt recruiting Rough Riders to Pancho Villa planning the Mexican Revolution. Who knows what can happen when you’re tossing back a few cold ones? Much of the saloons foundation are still original pieces including the bar back. The museum has lots of exotic animals and an entire Texas Ranger Exhibit. There’s even a gift shop where you can get all sorts of Texas knick-knacks. The café will have you feeling the warmth of old fashion southern cuisine. Lasso up your cowboy or cowgirl and two-step on over to the most Texas bar in Texas.

Cant tell you about the saloon part of our experience but Buckhorn Saloon feels quite atmospheric and vintage to Texas history. We experienced the museum portions of the museum it has 2 parts The Wildlife / Buckhorn & Texas saloon history and The Texas Rangers History. It also has a gift shop once youre complete with either experience eating or the two museum portions. Would recommend! (Note: prices for the museum portion is around $25 per person, note sure if it fluctuates in price, but expect to spend $100+ if your with family.)

We came across this location while trying to find a place to cool off. We did not patron the saloon or cafe. We only visited the museum. Overall, neither my husband nor myself were fans of the experience. Also, most of the "interactive" area was broken and needed repair.

A True Texas Saloon Experience I was in San Antonio for work and had the opportunity to attend a company event at Buckhorn Saloon. This isn’t normally the type of place I would seek out, but I ended up really enjoying it. The taxidermy and wildlife displays throughout the venue make for a unique and authentic Texas experience. The staff was incredibly attentive, the buffet-style food was good, and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

Cool museum with an extensive collection of taxidermy of all sorts of animals land and sea. We didn’t eat at the saloon but I heard that the food is pretty good . It’s worth a visit if you’re in town.

If you are a person that enjoys seeing some EXCEPTIONAL Boone & Crockett Class Big Game this is somewhere you'd want to see. Some incredible Old Trophy taxidermy mounts and an amazing old building close to the historic Alamo👍👍

Had some family come into town and we were looking for different things to check out downtown and this saloon came up. To be honest we didn’t know what to expect but we really did enjoy ourselves. The food/burgers were really good, the staff were friendly and helpful when purchasing our museum tickets. We took our time walking through the museums (about an hour and half) and made sure to grab a magnet to remember it by when we left. Their gift shop has some really nice Texas inspired merchandise, don’t skip it. We will go back, at least for the burgers.

Pretty large restaurant, bar, and museum in downtown San Antonio. The saloon/restaurant is really cool, covered from top to bottom in taxidermy animals. Lots of cool history on the walls. The place also has two museums, the Buckhorn Museum and the Texas Ranger Museum. The Buckhorn Museum has a bunch of taxidermy animals and other curiosities. The sideshow exhibit was neat...but some parts of it weren't working. The Texas Ranger museum houses a nice collection of artifacts from various famous Texas Rangers, as well as a recreation of old San Antonio. A plus is that you get to carry around a beer from the bar while visiting the museums. Had lunch at the end of my visit and the food was pretty solid. There's a lot to see here and you can certainly spend a good deal of time here between the various exhibits and the food/drink. It's definitely a little tourist-trappy, but still worth a visit if you are in the downtown area.

Pretty neat museum, little creepy, lots of dead things. Look up coupons to get in. Go on a sunday and you can park on the streets free, usually spots around the park. Get a beer or whiskey at the bar after and feel like a cowboy

Holy taxidermy Batman! Lol So many critters and creatures to see and there's a Texas Ranger Museum attached as well. Definitely a fun place to spend some time and when you're all done you can get some drinks up the saloon! Cool gift shop as well.
