I guess it's now called go fish "wine bar" and not go fish "market" but I really miss the market concept. Food is great but the best part was being able to buy some quality seafood to take home that you can't find anywhere else in this town. The casual space doesn't convert very well into a wine bar so it's kinda an odd vibe having to order at the counter when it's essentially now a restaurant (they have servers at wine bars as well). And it's usually empty when I go so you're missing the chatty buzzy fun of a wine bar. The decor also screams cute and casual and bright which works for a market but not really a wine bar- its like having wine at a fancy grocery store but a grocery store nevertheless.
*I'm dropping the review by another star because the business keeps marketing themselves as a market (most recent issue of san antonio mag). I really do not appreciate false advertising.
There's so much potential in this place and the dry aged fished is superb, unique and mad tasty - I hope they figure out how to make it work and what their identity is because it's just off right now.
Also, some of the staff here are awesome, but I also find some to be super slow (despite being the only customer in the place). It's also annoying to show up shortly after opening for lunch only to wait for them to open like ten minutes late, take another 5/10 to "open" and turn on the registers then another 10 to figure out what you're ordering (even though it's on the short menu that the staff should be able to read) and then another 5/10 to prepare it for takeaway (it was raw- no cooking required). Just open half an hour later if you can't be ready at the time you advertise. No waiters, but customers definitely do a lot of waiting here.
