What makes it fun
If you happen to find yourself waiting for a bus near the Blue Star Arts Complex, you will no doubt notice these unique benches built purposefully to fit in with their artistic surroundings. The series of cement benches are covered with seemingly random tile mosaics and stone designs. At the base of each mosiac bench, you can read a quote from world-renowned and beloved artist Pablo Picasso, which reads, “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” The benches are a pleasant and welcome surprise for anyone expecting the normal cold, dreary bus stop bench. They may even be enough to foster the realization in one's mind that art is everywhere, in the most everyday places, should you choose to take the moment to seek it out.
