What's Brewing has been locally roasting gourmet coffee for almost 40 years. What's Brewing sells these gourmet beans to both the public and wholesale distributors. What's Brewing is about more than just beans though. Those beans are used in shop to create delicious coffee treats for those needing a caffeine fix. Once you have that sweet caffeine, head over to play some pinball. That's right this is a coffee shop with a wide selection of pinball machines. What's Brewing knows what's up!

I love the coffee. This place is tucked away and very unique. The chocolate whiskey coffee needs to be an option to buy in bulk.

First time excited customer, last time very disappointed customer. I walk in happy in my lunch break surrounded by the smell of great coffee however not one person greeted me out or 3 employees, instead I received the worst customer service ever from a coffee shop. I was made to feel like I was supposed to know what I want when I step up to counter, I stated to barista that it was my first time and she responded with a blank stare and no comment. I asked about sugar free options of syrup and was told bluntly, “vanilla that’s it.” I paid and just stood there due to no instructions on confirmation of payment or where to wait. I oooked around at all the pinball machines however the atmosphere felt more like a members only dinging and dragon’s league if you catch my wiff. My order was placed at counter no call out of my name. Walked up to get my coffee and then my name was shouted out. I proceeded to take my coffee and find an area to sit despite the majority of the tables being dirty. I found one table that was half clean. I sat and looked around at the atmosphere again. The atmosphere felt more uninviting than welcoming, oddly enough more welcoming than the employees. I finished my drink and proceeded to take my cup to the front counter as per instructed on a post near the register when I approach to return my cup I was met with blank stairs and made to feel incompetent due to my first time ever visiting this location and or franchise as much as I was excited to visit for the first time due to the advertising on social media, I will not give this another opportunity. I regret wasting my time on my lunch and spending my money on, not just the coffee which tasted as if it was over brewed and handled with non-care the atmosphere overall sealed my decision to never give a new coffee spot a chance, despite all the hype around it if your new to the coffee scene and want to try coffee spots, I highly suggest you stay away.

Horrible service. Forgot to make my coffees, then after reminding them of it they huff and puffed about it. Then quickly made two coffees I didn’t order. I will never come back to this location. I’ve been to many coffee shops in the area and never have I had such horrible service as well as horrible coffee.

Excellent coffee always and excellent service except on weekends. I went today, and service was not the usual. I left with coffee beans unground because the staff member was too busy to do it, and then she wanted me to get in line again to pay even though there was a register she could use right there. She was even dismissive when I tried to tip her. I'm going to think long and hard before I go back on a weekend.

Good coffee at good prices. They're still roasting beans & making drinks. They'll grind your beans for you if need be and can give recommendations if you've had a particular coffee that you've liked or based on what you like (or don't like) in a cup. There's a pinball arcade in the building, along with an equipment corner.

I always come here for whole Ethiopian coffee beans. The Guji Highlands variety was outstanding but discontinued. But still, they have other worthy Ethiopian beans.

I exclusively use these beans on an E61 espresso machine I have at home. When these beans are freshly roasted, and freshly ground, the berry aroma they produce is incredible. I've been coming here for almost 2 years, I'm hooked with the quality.

Very good coffee over 30 ,staff very friendly .They are always up to mixing up your drink .I say surprise me and its good...A must stop for great coffee and the best Pinball in San Antonio for sure...Check out Alamo Pinball Leagues .They play here group members very nice talked to a few in Frisco .All plays are a dollar or less with quarters, coin change machines take twenties tens fives ones. Machines change weekly crazy times here

Really cool coffee house with tons of pinball machines to play! I love how they have non-dairy milks to use in your coffee. Also they regularly partner with the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition which is super cool! They really care about cats at this place. Haven't tried the food yet as when I was there I didn't see any vegan items but hoping they add some soon!

Very kind people serving Merit coffee beans with their own flare. Beautiful, small coffee house with character. Horchata latte is delightful. Pastries are wonderful. Avocado toast is thick and tasty. Everything is good here. I think this spot is overlooked due to location. It’s a great neighborhood coffee spot that deserves more love.

Such a fun place!

Not only do they have an amazing selection of beans to choose from to take home or brew there, they have an epic pinball collection!
On certain nights, they host pinball leagues in the San Antonio area. They have an expert/professional league, Beginners league, and children's league.
There is a wide range of pinball machines. From the classic wooden ones to the modern surround sound full immersive experience ones. The older ones have a little list in the top right hand corner on the machine that tells the year it was made along with a few fun facts. They range in price per game from .25-$1.00.
Don't worry about bringing quarters, as they have a change machine ready for any $1-$20 denominations.
They provide a large selection of coffee (see picture) to choose from. They will weigh it out for you to take home or they can brew it there. Excellent place to try new coffee or try a flight to see what type of coffee you like best.
Our party came in with 7 people from ages 8 years old to 50 years old, and everyone had a fun time.
The service here is prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the coffee they offer and are happy to provide any answers to the style of coffee to recommend. Or any information of the styles of brewing coffee or the coffee itself.

We enjoyed both the coffee and games.

Lovely place to visit. Had a great time selecting out coffee to take back home. And having coffee in the same building as a roastery is such a great atmosphere. Can't wait to be back.

A SA hidden treasure. Coffee was great but when we arrived at 12:00 there weren’t many pastries left. At least 30-40 different pinball tables to choose from, including classics to relatively new releases. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place for dates and families….although I wouldn’t mind coming back to have all my quarters to myself.
