The service was amazing, our waitress was so kind. The food however was definitely overpriced. The worst part….the gnats. There were gnats everywhere. We thought maybe it was bc we sat by the window but when we asked the waitress, it’s been a known issue and there was no moving because they were everywhere.

We walked from a BnB to try this place out for dinner. Located not far from historical homes and What a nice place to dine. The vibe is current with open type seating and some private seating areas. Nicely decorated. Drink menu had some fun drinks names, which we enjoyed having. Menu is a-la carte We ordered the bread and wow! Light as air and tasted amazing along with the butter. We each had a wonderful tasting dinner. We will put this in our list when we return to SA.

We wanted something special for our monthly friends dinner, and Maverick Texas Brasserie delivered. Tucked into a historic Southtown building, it felt like our own little escape. The steaks, wood-fired and aged, were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The escargot was rich and garlicky, and the beef tartare was fresh and delicate. It was warm, attentive, and deeply romantic.

I stopped by for a drink with some friends. The fried are really good. The drinks are great. You will need to pay for parking . The experience over all was great. I will be back for sure.

It took over five minutes for anyone to come to the host stand to check us in, even though we were only the second table to be seated after they opened. The hostess was also our waitress and server. We ordered the escargot, gougères, the Monday special, the ribeye, and the profiteroles. Most of our table chose the Monday special. We all had dry chicken but the veggies and potatoes were good. The presentation was not nice either. Every other dish was made well and tasted great!

This place is fantastic. The food was amazing. We started off with the escargot. It was the best I have enjoyed in years This was the best steaks I have had in San Antonio. I am a food snob and the flavor fantastic. My wife got the duroc pork chop. It is amazing as well. The best we have had in a restaurant. This is a must for anyone in the San Antonio area! If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!

The food is delicious, especially the ribeye steak with its great taste. The potatoes on the side are fantastic as well. However, I think the only downside is the size of the cocktails compared to their price. They are delicious, don’t get me wrong.

The food was delicious and felt well worth the price. The crab cakes had tons of actual crab and adding on the salmon to my pasta dish was a large piece of fish. There was also a large drink menu with wine, beer, cocktails, and mocktails (as well as other non-alcoholic options). I recommend making reservations for peak dinner times on the weekends. With the reservation, we were seated immediately. There is a paid parking lot that is right next to the resturant and was very convenient. There is some street parking that is free, but less convenient.

Came here for Culinaria Restaurant Week and ordered the Beef Bourgignon, a dish I'd been wanting to try for years. The RW special was a very good price for a fixed menu and 3 courses. The hors d'oeuvre were great, the soup was barely warm, and the much anticipated beef bourgignon was extremely bland and underwhelming, as well as barely room temperature. The dessert (banana fosters creme brulee) was out of this world fabulous. Service was great as well as the ambiance.

Great food, interesting cocktails, chill vibe. Some free parking, lots of immediate, adjacent paid parking. Started w appetizers, gougères (think brazlian cheese balls), calamari w octupus and lump crab cakes. The bread bites were large and generous. The smokey flavored octupus was cooked to perfection, tasty, not chewy, flavorful and a nice addition to the calamari. Crab cakes were a bit small w only two pieces but rich and well balanced textures w the crunchy squid ink pasta. Those at the table ate the burger and salmon. Presentable, only positive feedback. The mixed grill included beef tenderloin, quail and duck sausage. Delicious! I highly recommend the sides we tried! Roasted cauliflower w curry puree w raisins and almonds, chared serrano creamed spinach, brussel sprouts w hazelnut nougat, swiss cheese and balsamic. Finished the meal with an amaretto cheese cake and little little ice cream sandwiches, perhaps croque glace. The cocktails were well made, well balanced, high quality. Maverick, scotch based excellence. Reeeally enjoyed the spicy mezcal cocktail. Only a couple of minor inconveniences. Didn't have the listed bottle of wine we ordered, ran a dish to the wrong table and had to remake it and the espresso machine was down but had some decent work arounds and managed to make a solid carajillo. Comfortable, stylish, clean, cool music. Would go back, want to try more and would strongly recommend.

For those who are considering dining at Maverick, please consider this review solely as my personal experience and not neccessarily a deterrence for your dining experience. Normally when I frequent restaurants such as this, I tend to set a high expectation based on what's advertised and the cost. On a Friday evening on August 23rd, my family and I were super excited about hanging out at Maverick Texas Brasserie. I came across their Instagram page and was immediately intrigued. Upon arrival, it was a little tight pulling up at the curbside valet due to the small space to park for valet while watching out for passing traffic while exiting your vehicle. We were warmly greeted and escorted to a table for 4 guests. We started off with two cucumber flavored mock tails which were a hit. Our appetizers were also a hit, very delicious 😋, which perfectly set the stage for our entrée. While we waited, we conversed and I got to steal glances at my novel that I brought to read. My novel was book 5 of an 8 part book series that I was deeply engrossed in. When dinner finally arrived, we were presented fries, a fish dish, and the tomahawk steak with potatoes. To my shock, the fries were obviously burnt, and the fish dish was dry. The steak had no flavor, the fat wasn't rendered properly, the temperature(medium plus) which I asked for wasn't what I got, not to mention the potatoes were undercooked. We obviously did not complete the $180 worth of tomahawk steak, the burnt fries and the undercooked potatoes. Throughout our experience, our server didn't make us feel as important. Hopefully she didn't have preconceived notions about us which may have affected her service to us. With that said, the only item that was omitted from our bill was the burnt fries. It just behooves me that someone would allow underwhelming food to get out from the Pass and make its way onto someone's table. With that said, we got our $360+ check. On our way home, I made the discovery that my novel was left behind and it was too late to turn around. I called Maverick immediately the following day and was told that someone might have heard about or seen a lost book. I was promised call back, but sadly no one returned my call. On Sunday, I called back and provided more details and was promised a call back whether or not the novel was found. During that conversation, I felt rushed because they were preparing for a Restaurant buyout. Again, no one cared to return my call. This is my reason for giving Maverick Texas Brasserie a 2 star review. Thanks for taking the time to read my honest review and hopefully your review will be better than mine.

Went for drinks and dessert and it was delicious. Dark Chocolate Torte is more than enough to share andcthe Fruit Tart is exceptional. Our server, Angela, was great. Very attentive and really knew what she was about. Thanks for a wonderfully perfect time.

Food was great - great flavors and quality cuts. Ambiance was beautiful and acoustics were wonderful as you didn’t hear everyone talking all at once. Service was good - Mia was wonderful and kind. Had great educated recommendations - she knows food. Service though was very slow from appetizer to drinks to entree. We were there for 2 hours… at one point we started to wonder if they forgot our entree order as we picked at our bread basket for a long time. It was a quiet weekday, so unsure if it was just a slow chef or short staff in kitchen but based on that - only go if you have nowhere to be after :) Willing to give another shot in the future.

Empty dining room. Took 2 hours to get simple brunch food for a few people. All food came out cold, over cooked under seasoned. Chili’s has better food. Absolutely terrible. Burnt coffee. Rude staff. Cold watery soup. Cold rubbery omlette. Hard boiled poached egg.

Absolutely top notch. Incredible meal, Jonathon was incredibly astute and made sure our glasses were never empty. Definitely come hungry because the portions are Texas sized in the best way!

We arrive around 6ish since we did not have a reservation on a Thursday. We were seated promptly and restaurant was not busy during this time. When we left, people were barely starting to arrive. Good service, friendly. Beautiful restaurant. Ordered the Blackberry Paradis cocktail, which was spicy. At first, the spiciness packs a punch but then it's in the background. Wish I could have tasted the blackberry more but it's a good drink. For the main, ordered the Pan Seared Trout Almondine. Great flavor, fish was cooked to perfection and the green beans still had a crunch to them. Would order it again and would come back to Maverick to try other menu items.

Delicious food! The servings were just a little small for the price. They don’t have tons of gluten free options on the menu but I asked and they had some gluten free gnocchi with goat cheese crema that I highly recommend.
