    What makes it fun

Walker Ranch Historic Landmark Park is located at the confluence of two creeks; Panther Springs Creek and Salado Creek. The park has deep roots in San Antonio, once private land and still an archaeologically active site, the area was given to the city and converted into the park you see today. Take a stroll in the shade on one its various nature trails, have lunch under the tin-roofed pavilion. Walker Ranch gives you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, the scenery of the natural trees and its elevated Bridgeway. Don’t forget to take your partner to check out the park's Landmark Windmill.

Beautiful nature. Animals are roaming comfortably. Plenty of deer. This is the closest to nature you can be

Fairly quiet weekdays, and Saturdays during football season. Much busier on nice Sundays. Plenty of walking, jogging, biking options. Enjoy local deer sightings. Connects to miles of paths north/west and south/east (Salado Creek Greenway). Play areas for kids. Can be tight parking in the 'main' lot which is off West Ave. More parking off a side road, Rhapsody, just south of the main park entrance. The new (2022) Walker Ranch Senior Center is also on Rhapsody.

Lots of climbing trees, abundance of friendly squirrels, nicely maintained trails.

Love going to the Hays street bridge to watch the sun set over downtown. There's always people there taking pictures or just hanging out watching the sunset. I've gotten so many great pics and made fun memories with friends and family there.

Took the family to the park for some fun in the sun. Very nice park, a good playground for the kids with swings and soft but abrasive padding on the ground.
The windmill was awesome, and the trails were paved, so pushing the stroller was easy.
Please don't leave trash there. Its one of the cleanest parks, and I saw a family popping balloons after their party was over, littering the area by the pavilion with all the rubber from the balloons. What a shame.

I love this park! Live nowhere near it, but the scenery is like no other. I just love the trails on my morning walks! Very peaceful!
