The Guenther House was the home of Carl Hilmar Guenther, owner of the Pioneer Flour Mill. The historic home was built in the 1860s and in 1902 it was remodeled to its current state. The Guenther House Museum features Pioneer Mill memorabilia, antique baking accessories, and furniture and fixtures from the Guenther family home. The Guenther House Restaurant allows you to dine back in time as you enjoy breakfast or lunch on the beautiful patio or inside the downstairs portion of the Guenther House.

 

3) Yturri- Edmunds House~ 19th Century Charm

The Yturri-Edmunds House will take you and your sweetheart back to 19th century life in San Antonio. The Yturri-Edmunds House was built sometime between 1840 and 1860. This home still contains its original furnishings, family portraits, and other items that help display every aspect of pioneer life in San Antonio. For just $15 each, you can enjoy a guided tour of the Yturri-Edmunds House with an expert guide who will fill you in on all the rich history of this homestead that’s been honored as a Historic Texas Landmark.

4) La Villita~ History & Arts, A Great Combination

Stroll hand in hand with your sweetheart down the cobblestone streets of La Villita. La Villita features architecture from a variety of historical periods. You can see adobe structures, Victorian buildings, and Texas limestone construction all in the same square block of San Antonio along the Southern bank of the River Walk. Today, La Villita is a treasure trove of works by local artisans with over 25 shops and galleries. La Villita also hosts a calendar full of community events and is home to the Arneson River Theatre.
